Creating a Place-Based Working Group in LRSD - Room 121
Wednesday November 13, 2024 10:30am - 11:30am MST
Trying to implement place-based pedagogy into your teaching practice but feeling a bit isolated? Come meet a group of likeminded educators who are looking to collaborate to improve their practice together. We will start off with an open discussion aimed at exploring place-based learning and how it can improve outcomes for kids. We will then explore how we can infuse a place conscious lens into our teaching practice. Participants are encouraged to bring lesson plans or unit plans that we can help each other spruce up by adding place conscious content and activities that are directly tied to curricular outcome. The ultimate goal of the session will be to link participants into a group where they feel that they have resources and a network of colleagues who can help each other incorporate place-based pedagogical approaches in their classrooms and communities.
